Zigbee - open source project

Actually, i came to know when i worked on the initial standard implementation, during the Aug 2004- Feb 2005 period, about this low power wpan network technology and its name. While reading at that time i understood its still under evolving (sensor) technology, can have many applications around it. And also after the standard became public in the year 2005 mid, started thinking of to have open source stack, and tried several projects like linux-802-15-4,etc to participate into them. But that does't gone to a shape. And also several other projects, like openbee.org etc started aggressively, but later i checked still they are like in the same state only. Now i found one good project which is of open source (GPL2, and BSD) licensed. It is freakz stack. And complete information blog also on zigbee. you can get all the information from this site. http://freaklabs.org/ http://freakz.sourceforge.net/ -srinivas.

Google Chrome

Yes, this is a new work from Google. It is a web browser, and is of open source project, according to google's blog. I am eagerly waiting for its announcement on this Tuesday(Now in India it is Tuesday, Probably by night, ie. on US it will be Tuesday), can expect the news. Actually am using now, Safari from Apple. It is a bit fast enough. It is having private browsing. Now the Microsoft has come with the idea, and promoting it, in its IE8. The good thing is, one can best use it for their personal browsing, R&D topics etc, rather negative way of using. And next best am using Firefox 3.x.  Let me see, the chrome affect, whether it will be the default browser on my Laptop. see the site,  http://www.google.com/chrome -srinivas.

Blackle - power saving google

I do't how the name arrived (may be black and google). But yet its the one really saves the power while using the site for search.  You can get more information at http://www.blackle.com/about/ The cost saving calculation is available here http://ecoiron.blogspot.com/2007/01/black-google-would-save-3000-megawatts.html -srinivas.

Just cool

I mean, the title should be spelled, Just Cuil. Cuil(http://www.cuil.com), is a new search engine launched, just in the last week. Its search results also ok. Still not on par to the Google which i like at this point. I heard the google name around 1999 in the same way, but today it is the starting site daily. I just tried to search about one of my interested album, Spin doctros - two princes. I forgot the name and searched as doctors album, it came as 2nd entry in Google, and also quickly clearly in the cuil as Mp3 specific findings in the 1st page itself. Probably have to wait and see, will this could become as default on some day. There are so many other search engines, to know about them and their specialities http://www.altsearchengines.com/ -srinivas.

Napkin PC

While browsing Net, i came across the Napkin PC. Actually this is the 1st prize winner in the next generation competition for 2007-2008. Its so great thought come to him, even though we all  see paper napkins in the restaurants, or other places etc, but we never thought in that way that such a device is possible. It's really good and great design work.  Basically, this PC does have an electronic e-Paper, on which the electronic pen is writing or sketching and will be interfaced to main computer using an RF device. An user can have several napkins for different pieces of information sketching. And finally he can integrate them into different combinations. I think, it would be more useful for creative and advertisement area people. You can see more information from here. http://www.nextgendesigncomp.com/entrydetail.aspx?id=863 -srinivas.
